Student Poster Session

Hours, location and set up

All students receiving a grant to attend the conference must present their work in this session, and must submit a contribution to the proceedings. Other students attending the conference not receiving a grant are also welcome to present at this session. Posters presented at this session will be considered for a prize for best student poster.

Student posters are presented twice during the conference: during the student poster session and during the poster sessions.

Posters should be set up from 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 25, and students should attend to their posters for interactions with judges and conference delegates from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Students are also asked to remove their posters at the end of the session. Any poster left on its poster board after 6:30 pm will be removed.

Criteria

The evaluation committee will judge and decide the winner of the best student poster. Main criteria for the best poster selection are presentation and clarity, quality of the poster, the student’s contribution, and scientific and technical merit. The criteria and their breakdown are given: Student Poster Evaluation Criteria [Todd Satogata].

Prizes and judging

The student poster session is an opportunity to showcase student work. Best student poster will be awarded to 1 student whose work, presented in the special session for students (Sunday, August 25, between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm) is particularly meritorious.

The winner will receive a copy of a textbook, presented during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session on Thursday, August 29.

All students should attend their posters for interactions with judges and conference delegates between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. All delegates and exhibitors are encouraged to visit the student poster session.
